more than heavy critique, though constructive feedback and editing advise is given within the communal workshop setting.

MONDAYS 7:00-9:00pm
Beginning March 4, enrollment on-going

about Virginia

The exploration into one's life and discoveries can lead to a deeper understanding of the self. More importantly, however, this probing and recording of what has affected and moved us the most, can guide us to a stronger understanding of existence as a whole and our place within the global community. In this workshop we will study excerpts from a variety of memoirs and use prompts from these to journey further into our own story . . . while keeping our hearts open to finding the universal bond within all experiences. Open to all levels. 6 week fee: $210.

In March, 2012, the anthology OCCUPY SF, poems from the movement was released, edited by Virginia Barrett and Bobby Coleman. In this workshop we will focus on current issues affecting us, both globally and locally, while exploring ways in which to write moving, effective, even lyrical pieces to help bring about change in the world. Facilitated by Bobby Coleman with local guest poet-contributors from the anthology OCCUPY SF. 6 week fee: $230.

about Virginia

Classical yogic teachings help the aspirant to become more aware of the divine Self within . . . just as creating with this intention can aid the poet to feel more whole. In this workshop we will read, write, and explore poetry as a spiritual act, sometimes playful, sometimes full of longing and urgency to commune with an energy larger than our own. Each week we will read a mystic poet from a variety of world traditions and use their work as inspiration to write. Open to all levels. 6 week fee: $210.
